Noise distraction is one of the biggest problems for workers in modern, open-plan offices. The challenge was to come up with a design for acoustic tiles that is attractive, playful and at the same time effective.
Five different tile shapes allow for an infinite number of possible configurations. The tiles can be wall mounted and horizontally as well as vertically hung from the ceiling. Steelcase’s Truchet Acoustic Tiles are inspired by the work of French priest and mathematician Sebastien Truchet.
